I've been boating for years. In fact, some of my earliest and best memories are from time spent on the water. There is something magnetic about boats, their wakes, and the spray of the lake or the sea that pulls me to lake shores and oceanfronts no matter where I am.
I've owned 4 boats over the years, each of increasing size though I am still far from my ultimate dream. If luck shines on me and my family, someday I'll buy a 25' Bertram, Grady White, Boston Whaler, or Pursuit. Maybe something even bigger. A 32' Albemarle convertible? A 33' Blackfin Express Sport Fisherman? A 37' Tiara Express would make my wife happy. After all, it's only money, right? A little footitus never hurt anyone!
But don't get me wrong. That would be my salt water boat. Fishing. Overnighting. That kind of thing. I'll also need one for the lake. Maybe a nice 25' Colbalt. Or one of the elegantly designed (newer) Chris-Crafts. Perhaps a 42' Sea Ray Sundancer is in order. Hmmmm... decisions decisions.
But for now, I'll continue living vicariously through Trailer Boats Magazine, Motor Boating, and SaltWater SportsMan. I'll schedule our family vacations close to marinas. And I'll cruise the waterways in my latest toy oogling at the sleek lines, and craftsmanship of the latest floating palaces.
I will also feed my passion by managing this blog. I'll seek out other Boatheads and industry contributors to help me find boating-related stories, reviews, discussions, news, photos, and videos. In fact, this blog is for any nautical-oriented related information that will inform, entertain, and inspire. Ahoy!
